I currently accept the following insurance plans: Blue Cross Blue shield, United Healthcare, and Harvard Pilgrim. For out-of-pocket sessions credit/debit cards and HSA/FSA cards are accepted. Payment is due at the time of service.
If your insurance plan is not listed above and you are a Massachusetts or New Hampshire resident receiving Medical Nutrition Therapy you may still be able to have your sessions covered by insurance. I can provide you with a Superbill to submit to your insurance company for potential reimbursement depending on your plan. I highly encourage you to reach out to your insurance company prior to our visit to ask about coverage. Please click below to help determine your out-of-network benefits.

Call the phone number for member services on the back of your insurance card
Write down the representative's name, call reference number, and information given to you. Ask the following questions:
“Does my plan cover out of network, virtual, medical nutrition therapy counseling? The CPT codes for these services are 97802 and 97803. The place of service is 02 for virtual/telehealth sessions.”
If the answer is no, ask about a single case agreement due to the limited number of providers in the area who provide medical nutrition therapy for disordered eating, eating disorders, and/or intuitive eating.
If the answer is yes, continue with the following questions:
“Are there any restrictions for what is covered for nutrition counseling?” For example, “does my plan cover preventive services? Does it only cover visits that are medically necessary? Are there only certain diagnosis codes that are covered?” If you are seeking care for diabetes or an eating disorder you can ask about coverage for these specific diagnoses.
“Is there a limit to the number of nutrition visits per year that are covered or is it unlimited?” If there is a limit, ask when the year begins and ends for coverage.
“Do I have to meet a deductible first to receive coverage for nutrition counseling?” If so, ask how much of your deductible you have already met for this year.
”Do I need a physician referral?”
“What is the process for submitting a superbill for reimbursement?”
All services, payments and paperwork are managed via a HIPAA-compliant telehealth platform: Simple Practice.
